List of Things I Still Have to Watch

I have a lot of things that I have yet to watch.  Not just anime, but also movies and some TV series that are squatting at my hard drive wasting precious GBs. Since my watching pace have more or less slowed down because of my regular job, I haven’t got the chance to marathon anything. I usually watch an episode or two from two (if I come home early I can usually sneak in an episode from another series) series per day. I just want to show how much I have yet to finish and those that I haven’t started yet. It’s also nice since this might be future shows that I would review (maybe). If there are shows in the list that you would like to see me review or hear my thoughts about it, I’m willing to look it up to and bump it to my priority list (though I doubt it since I’m not the most popular kid in the block)!

Webcomic Review: Ketchup Ninja

While technically an interactive comic, I decided to categorize it as a webcomic since I viewed it at that format. It was made by Japanese artist Daromeon, so it can also be called a manga. While the categorization can be quite confusing, and the true elitist would insist that manga are different from comics despite the fact that a manga is a type of comic. Though to be sure, I categorized this one in Comics and Manga. So, yeah. Ketchup Ninja everybody!

Anime Review: True Tears Made Me Cry Tears of Frustration

If I could cry for every screw-up the characters did, I’d be flooding my place right now.

I’ve been mostly appreciative of P.A. Works, this season I’m quite a fan of Uchouten Kazoku but I liked their other works, too. Another was a decent thriller/mystery anime (some say it’s horror, I say it’s more suspense); Angel Beats hold a special place in my heart (despite being an okay show) as the anime that made me watch anime again in college; and I have mixed feelings with Canaan and Hanasaku Iroha. I figured I’d watch another show from the studio because I’m a big fan of their animation. So, I took a shot with True Tears, since I would rather watch something new rather than continuing Red Data Girl which I dropped.

The Venture Bros. First Season Impressions

The Venture Bros. is a series I’ve been meaning to watch for a long time now.  However, it kept being pushed away because (1) it’s freaking long with already five seasons under its belt and (2) I still have a huge list of anime I have yet to watch. However, since I finished a few series I had in my hard drive (Hagure Yuusha, Maken-Ki, and Moyashimon), I figured I should watch the first season of The Venture Bros. along with Disney’s Gravity Falls. I must say, I got really hooked with both! Though today, I’d be mostly talking about The Venture Bros.

Beware the Batman: A Batman In A Desolate Gotham

If any of you haven’t heard, there’s a new Batman animated TV series currently showing. While this doesn’t surprise no one, since it became somewhat of a habit of milking the good ol’ Batman franchise, from video games, comics, and live-action film (reboot and recast recently with Ben Affleck just a few years removed from a successful trilogy, anyone?). So an animated TV series isn’t anything new, but this new iteration does put new tricks on the table.

Blog, I Have Returned!

I kinda neglected my blog (again) for a whole month. Though not as worse as before when I didn’t touch this for my whole summer vacation. Still…

Anyway, aside from being lazy in terms of writing, I was quite busy with real life stuff! I had to go job hunting and thankfully landed one, which was unfortunately met with a lot of requirements that I had to take care of. Meanwhile, I’ve been busy watching the shows I’ve missed and reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series (which took a huge amount of time) and I’m still at book three. *sighs*

I also had some recent travels and was busy writing a novel I’ve been trying hard to get past the first chapter. I never got the groove to writing the blog till my head was clear from the job hunting part, as I’m too attached to my other hobbies to sacrifice the time allocated for it. But, I secured a job so I guess that’s okay, right? Well, I’m starting next week. *double sigh*

However, I decided to be more committed to blogging. A lot of my other stuff I can’t mostly do at leisure, like travelling for example. Since I’ll be mostly staring at a computer in my job and in my free time, I figured that blogging should be part of my common roster of activities. It’s also a breather from my more literary-driven writings, and might probably get my head in the game in to writing my novel again or a few short stories here and there.

So, with that, I welcome myself again to this blog! I’ve got a lot of material to write about this time, aside from reading some books, I watched a lot of TV shows (mostly anime and cartoons) recently. Haven’t been catching up on my regular comic pull, but I guess I can, once I start getting my salary. Heh. With that, expect a post some time later or tomorrow!

It’s Been A Bumpy Week

I haven’t been able to get some post recently because I’ve been very very busy with real life. Ugh. Mostly it’s job hunting stuff, so I have to commute a lot (I think I should mention how our city has dreadful traffic and sucky public transportation), answer a lot of qualifying exams, and do some job interviews. There’s so much I want to write about, actually. Unfortunately, the moment I get home my mind is too swamped and tired to write. Plus, I have to clean my place up and cook my own meals…so yeah, chores. Double ugh. I do get some free time, but most of the time, I spend it reading a book (right now A Song of Fire and Ice) and watching the anime this season to clear my head.

Anyway, I’ll be mostly free tomorrow and the following weekend so I think I’d be putting up some posts. For now, I think I need to rest.

I Like Comics, Though Not Necessarily Marvel/DC

“You read comics? Cool! Do you know that guy who fought Superman with a flying sundae cone and unicorns? He’s the most awesome villain ever, right?!”

Whenever people get to know that I read comics, I’m more often than not asked with, “Marvel or DC?“. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I particularly hate Marvel or DC. In fact, when comics are brought up, it’s almost the first two things that can be associated with it. It’s almost a given fact that most of the time, when people say comics, it means superhero comics.
